The Flannel Flowers Reimagined | Australian Native Flower Artwork

The Flannel Flower - or Actinotus helianthi - is an Australian native, and got nicknamed with ‘flannel’ because of their soft and woolly feel. When you see these bushes in bloom they’re amazing, the look so soft and so pretty with all the stalks flying everywhere and the most elegant flowers at the end - totally in contrast to the leaves. This piece is a new take on one of my favourite flowers - climbing up the page, using a mix of soft and clear lines to keep your eyes searching through all the details.
